Asphalt Seal Coating in Calgary

Sealcoating

Extend the life of your pavement asset and increase your property’s curb appeal. Asphalt pavement is a mixture of graded stone aggregate and asphalt. The asphalt is the binder or glue that holds the pavement together. If left unprotected, asphalt will deteriorate from oxidation, wear and tear, and harmful natural elements such as the sun.

Ultraviolet rays break down the asphalt binder, turning the asphalt from black to light grey.

As the asphalt binder is broken down, water can enter the surface and cause the separation of the individual stones in the asphalt. Furthermore, water can enter into cracks and compromise the base of the asphalt, caving the base layer and causing potholes.

A seal coat is essential to the health of your asphalt. Sealcoating protects and prolongs the life expectancy of asphalt by filling minor surface imperfections and protecting against the sun, water damage, and wear and tear.

Re-paving is expensive, and a seal coat delays this costly expense by putting a protective layer on the driveway’s surface.

Homeowners
A driveway with filled cracks and a seal coat will save you money in the long run, and make your property look well maintained. Preventative maintenance is much more cost-effective than paying for repaving a deteriorated driveway.

Businesses
If a business’s parking lot has a fresh seal coat, it will put the idea in their head that your business is well run, high-quality, and trustworthy before they step foot inside the door. One study found that nine out of ten customers immediately felt better about a given business when they had a well-maintained parking lot. It shows your customers that you care about your property, you care about your business, and you will care about them.

Process
At Infinity Asphalt, we do not take any shortcuts when seal coating. We follow strict guidelines to ensure our work is of the highest quality. To do this, we have a seven-step process:

  • Assess - Assess the asphalt for cracks, potholes, or any other imperfections that need to be filled prior to the seal coat.
  • Quote - Provide a quote for the scope of work. We are transparent, any and all questions will be answered about what we are doing and what it costs.
  • Schedule - Upon approval, our team will work with your schedule to find a time that works the best for you.
  • Prep, Stage 1 - On the day the work commences, our experienced crew will begin filling in cracks and/or repairing any major asphalt imperfections (if necessary).
  • Prep, Stage 2 - After the cracks have been filled and the surface of the asphalt is ready for the seal coat, our crew will begin cleaning the asphalt in preparation for application. Any areas with overgrown grass or weeds will be trimmed, the surface will be blown off, and our experienced crew will survey the ground to ensure there's nothing that will interfere with the adhesion.
  • Sealcoat - A high-quality, commercial-grade seal coat will be carefully and expertly applied to the surface of the parking lot or driveway.
  • Cure - Give the seal coat 24 hours to cure -- we can mix in additives that don't affect the quality of the sealcoat, but speed up the curing time. If this is something your business is interested in ask about the different options that we offer to find the right solutions for you.
